Administrative discretion

Administrative discretion is when a person in a position of power gets to decide something. For example, a teacher may have the discretion to decide which students will get a good grade because they worked hard, and which students might need a little extra help to do better. It is important for administrative discretion to be used wisely, so that everyone has an equal opportunity.
