Adoption fraud

Adoption fraud is when someone lies or tricks someone into believing they have found them a baby to adopt. For example, someone might pretend to be the parent of a newborn or act like they know someone who is able to give away a baby for adoption. Then, they will ask for money to cover expenses related to the adoption, but there is no baby. The person who pays the money for the nonexistent adoption will not get the baby and will not get their money back.
