ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Advanced Practice Nurse

An advanced practice nurse is a very smart and knowledgeable nurse who has gone to school for a very long time to learn more things about taking care of people. They can do a lot of the same things that doctors can do, like examine you, make a diagnosis and prescribe you medicine. However, they still work closely with doctors to make sure you get the best care possible. They also help you understand how to take care of yourself and what you can do to stay healthy. Basically, they are like super-special nurses who know a lot more about how to take good care of you!
