Aedui

The Aedui were a group of people who lived in France a very long time ago. They were part of a big group of people called the Gauls. The Aedui were known for being really good at trading with other people and making friends with their neighbors.

One of the things that made the Aedui special is that they were friends with the Romans. The Romans were very powerful and had a big army, so being friends with them was important. The Aedui were so helpful to the Romans that the Romans even gave them special privileges, like having their own leaders and being protected by the Roman army.

But even though the Aedui were friends with the Romans, they still had some enemies. One of their biggest enemies were another group of people called the Arverni. The two groups did not get along and would even fight each other sometimes.

Eventually, the Aedui lost their power and became part of the Roman Empire. They still had some independence and could make some decisions for themselves, but they were no longer as strong or important as they once were.

Today, we remember the Aedui as an important part of Gaulish and Roman history. They show us how important it is to make friends and trade with other people, but also how conflicts and wars can lead to changes in power and influence.
