Aegean numbers

Aegean numbers are a set of symbols that were created thousands of years ago by the people who lived in the Aegean Sea region, a place near Greece. These symbols were used to represent numbers, which is a way to count things.

You know how you count your fingers or your toys? People back then also counted things, but they didn't write numbers like we do today. Instead, they made these special symbols that looked like some drawings.

The Aegean numbers consist of about 90 different symbols, each representing a different number. Some of these symbols look like little cups or bowls, while others look like small lines and squiggles.

These symbols were used on things like pottery, tablets, and walls to keep track of things like crops, people, or animals. It was important to keep track of these things so they could know how much they had and what they needed to trade or sell.

Even though we have new ways to represent numbers now, the Aegean numbers are still important because they show us how people used to count and keep track of things a long time ago.
