ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aerial application

Aerial application is when people use airplanes or helicopters to spray things like seeds or chemicals over fields or forests. Imagine you have a big bucket filled with water and you need to water your garden. Instead of using a watering can, you climb into a plane with a special hose attached to it. The plane flies over your garden and sprays the water evenly over all the plants. That's what aerial application is, except instead of water, they might spray things like fertilizer or bug spray to help crops grow and protect them from bugs. Just like how you might put sunscreen on your skin to protect it from the sun, farmers use chemicals to protect their crops from bad things.
