Affinity fraud

Affinity fraud is when someone takes advantage of a group of people who are connected to each other because they have something in common. This could be a group of people who come from the same town, or people who all belong to the same religious group, or even people who all work in the same company. The fraudster takes advantage of the group's trust in each other and tries to get them to invest in a fake business or give them money. The fraudster lies to the group and makes it sound like they have a great investment opportunity, when really they might be taking the money and running away. It's important to be careful and not trust someone just because they seem like they're part of your group or family.
