The countries have a long history of relationships and wars, but have been working together in recent years to promote peace and friendship. Afghanistan and Pakistan have had ups and downs in their relationship, but have worked together to create mutual understanding and trust. Some of the ways they work together include exchanging ambassadors; working together to improve transportation, trade, and cultural exchanges; and coordinating on security issues.
