Afghanistan–Turkmenistan border

The Afghanistan–Turkmenistan border is the international line separating the countries of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. This border is 621 miles long, and it runs from the southern point of Afghanistan near Darvaz, across deserts, mountains and farmland until it meets up with the western edge of Turkmenistan. Both countries follow the demarcation line, meaning that no people, animals, armies, or property can cross the border without permission from both countries. The border exists to help keep peace between the two countries and protect their citizens.
