Africanisms

Africanisms are words, ideas, and legends that come from African cultures. They come from all over the continent, from countries like Ethiopia to South Africa. Africanisms have been passed down through generations and shared with people of all races, cultures, and backgrounds. Africanisms are often expressed in music, art, storytelling, dance, and language. Examples of Africanisms include the proverb “wisdom is like a baobab tree” and words like “juba” meaning “dance.” Africanisms often show us the importance of honoring our ancestors, celebrating cultural heritage, and connecting with the universe. They are a special part of African culture and history that are still kept alive today.
