ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Africans in Hong Kong

Okay kiddo, so there are some people who come from Africa and live in Hong Kong. People come from all over the world to live in different places, right? It's just like how we have friends at school who come from different countries.

But sometimes, when people are from a different place or look different from the people around them, they can experience something called "racism." This means that some people might say mean things or treat them unfairly just because of where they are from or what they look like.

Unfortunately, some Africans in Hong Kong have experienced racism. This can make it hard for them to feel comfortable and welcome in their new home. But there are also many people in Hong Kong who are kind and accepting of everyone, no matter where they come from or what they look like.

It's important for all of us to be kind and respectful to people from different backgrounds, and to make sure everyone feels included and valued. We're all just people, after all!
