Afrocentric education

Afrocentric education is an educational way of thinking that focuses specifically on the experiences, heritage, and cultures of African-Americans. It recognizes the importance of teaching African-American children about their history, language, and culture so they can have a strong sense of their identity and roots. Afrocentric education emphasizes the importance of highlighting the strength, resilience, and accomplishments of African-Americans, and teaching about Africa, African-American history, and African-American literature. This type of education also encourages children to take pride in their culture and to celebrate the unique aspects and stories of African-American life.
