ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

After action report

An after action report is like when you and your friends finish playing a game and then you all sit down and talk about what happened. You talk about what went well, what didn't go well, and what everyone can do better next time.

An after action report is similar, but it's used by people who work together to do important things, like emergency responders or firefighters. They use it to talk about what they did during a specific event, like a fire or a natural disaster, and figure out what they can do better in the future to keep people safe.

They talk about things like what tools they used, what worked well, what didn't work well, and what they can do differently next time. This helps them learn and improve so they can do their jobs even better in the future.
