Agathidium

Agathidium is a very tiny beetle, so tiny you might not even be able to see it without a magnifying glass! It has a round body shape and a hard outer shell that protects them from danger. They come in many different colors, like brown, black, and even shiny metallic.

Agathidium beetles like to live in places like rotten logs and leaves, where they can munch on yummy fungi and mold. They also like to hide in small crevices to keep safe from predators.

Interestingly, Agathidium males court females by giving them a special gift - a bundle of food that he carries in his mouth or on his back. This gift is important because it helps the female to lay more eggs and to keep their offspring healthy.

In summary, Agathidium is a cute and tiny beetle that likes to eat fungi and mold to stay healthy. They live in small crevices and protect themselves with their hard outer shells. Males give females food gifts to help with egg laying.
