Agency cost

Agency cost is when two groups of people have different goals, and they have to work together to reach a goal. For example, let's say a company hires a CEO. The company wants the CEO to make a lot of money, but the CEO might want to do things that don't make the company money. These two different goals can cause conflict, and this conflict is called agency cost. Agency cost is what happens when the two groups don't work together successfully.
