Aggregate (geology)

Imagine you have a bunch of small rocks in a box. When you scoop up those small rocks and put them in a pile, that pile is called an aggregate. In geology, an aggregate refers to a group of minerals or rocks that are found together in one place. These aggregates can be made up of different types of rocks and minerals, like sand, gravel, or even fossils. An aggregate can form naturally over a long period of time or it can be artificially created by humans. For example, concrete is an artificial aggregate made from a mixture of cement, sand, and gravel. Overall, an aggregate is a collection of different things that have come together to form a larger group.
