Okay little one, so you know how when you do something good, your parents might give you a treat or a hug? And if you do something bad, they might give you a time-out or take away a toy?
Well, in Islam, there are rules called ahkam which are a bit like your parents' rules. They tell us what we should do so we can be good Muslims and get rewarded by Allah, and what we shouldn't do so we don't get punished by Allah.
Ahkam cover all sorts of things we do in our daily lives, like praying, fasting, treating others kindly, and even things like how we dress and what we eat. They are based on the teachings of the Quran and the examples of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Just like when you follow your parents' rules and they're happy with you, if we follow the ahkam of Islam, Allah is pleased with us and we'll be rewarded in this life and the afterlife.
