Ahmadiyya is a type of Islam, or a way of following the religion of Islam. This type of Islam was started in 1889 by a man named Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who believed that he was the messiah of God. People who follow Ahmadiyya believe Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as the messiah, or savior, of all people. They also believe he was the "promised one" - someone who was predicted would come to help show people the true teachings of Islam. Ahmadiyya people believe there is only one God, just like in other forms of Islam, and that we all should show love and respect for humanity.
