ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ain Dara (archaeological site)

Ain Dara is like a really old playground that people were playing in a long long time ago. It's a special playground because instead of slides and swings, it has big rocks and stone walls that were made by people a really long time ago.

Archaeologists, who are like detectives that study really old things, found this playground in a place called Syria. They were really excited because it's really rare to find playgrounds like these that are still around after thousands of years.

At the Ain Dara playground, people used to worship their gods and goddesses. They built a big temple that had special rooms for the gods and goddesses to be worshipped in. Archaeologists were able to find some really neat things inside the temple like huge stone sculptures of lion paws and goddesses.

Even though the playground is thousands of years old, archaeologists can still learn a lot from it. They can learn about what people's lives were like back then and how they worshipped their gods and goddesses.
