Ok kiddo, let me explain.
You know how sometimes airplanes fly over and take pictures of things on the ground, like houses and buildings? Well, some airplanes have fancy cameras called “hyperspectral cameras” that can take really detailed pictures.
These pictures show lots of different colors that are too hard for our eyes to see, but the camera can see them. That's why it's called hyperspectral.
The airplane with the fancy camera can fly over an area and take pictures in real time. That means the pictures will update constantly as the plane moves.
But the pictures are so detailed that even big computer can’t analyze all of them quickly enough.
So, the airplane uses a special computer system that can quickly look at the pictures and find important things, like a hidden military base or a dangerous wildfire.
This computer system then sends those important findings to the people who need to know, like military leaders or firefighters.
And that's what we call “airborne real-time cueing hyperspectral enhanced reconnaissance” – it's a fancy way of saying that the airplane can take really detailed pictures from the sky and find important things quickly!
