Airborne wind energy

Airborne wind energy is when we use kites or drones or other flying devices to generate electricity from wind. Imagine flying a kite, but instead of just enjoying the wind, we're also using it to create energy!

These flying devices are connected to a generator on the ground by a long cable. When they fly high up in the sky, they move fast and the wind turns their blades or propellers, which spin the generator and create electricity.

Think of it like riding a bike. When we pedal fast, we generate energy that moves the bike. In airborne wind energy, the wind is moving the flying device, which generates energy and moves a generator on the ground.

This technology is becoming more and more popular because it's cheaper than traditional wind turbines and can be used in more places, even over oceans or areas with difficult terrain. Plus, it's cool to see kites and drones generating electricity!
