ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Airbox

An airbox is like the nose of a car or a bike. It is a part that helps the engine breathe in air. Just like how we need air to breathe and stay alive, the engine needs air to run and stay powerful.

The air flows into the airbox through some openings and then goes through a filter. The filter helps to trap any harmful particles such as dust, dirt, and bugs that may be harmful to the engine. Once the air has gone through the filter, it goes into the engine cylinders where it mixes with fuel to make the engine go vroom!

Think of the airbox like a bouncer at a club. It only lets in good air, while keeping out bad air (like pollutants) that can hurt the engine. Without an airbox, the engine may get sick and not run as smoothly or efficiently, just like how we get sick if we breathe in bad air.
