Aircraft diesel engine

An aircraft diesel engine is a type of engine that runs on diesel fuel instead of gasoline. Gasoline is the most common type of fuel used in most cars and airplanes, but diesel engines are becoming more popular in aircraft because they are more efficient and use less fuel, which helps cut costs for the airline. In an aircraft diesel engine the diesel fuel is mixed with air and then ignited with a spark plug, just like a gasoline engine. The burning fuel then pushes a piston and turns a crankshaft, which is connected to the propellers or the jet engine, just like in a gasoline engine, to make the aircraft move.
