An airport authority is like a boss who is in charge of an airport. They make sure that everything at the airport runs smoothly and safely. Think of it like cleaning your room. Your mom or dad is in charge of making sure everything in your room is in the right place and organized so that it's clean and easy to find things. The airport authority does the same thing for the airport to make sure that planes can take off and land safely, passengers can get on and off the airplanes easily, and that people working at the airport can do their jobs safely too. The airport authority also makes sure that the airport is clean, well-maintained, and welcoming to everyone who visits.
