So imagine there was a big hole in the ground that got really deep and wide. This hole is called a sinkhole, and it happened in a place called Akhayat.
Sometimes, the ground can be made up of rocks that dissolve really easily when they get wet. And when it rains a lot or there is a lot of water in the ground, those rocks can start to dissolve and break apart.
When this happens, the ground can't support all the stuff on top of it anymore, like houses or roads or anything else that's built there. So everything might start to sink down into the ground, like if you were standing on a soft and squishy pillow that started to sink under your feet.
That's basically what happened with the Akhayat sinkhole. The ground got really weak because of dissolving rocks, and everything on top of it started to sink down into a big hole. But it's important to remember that sinkholes like this are pretty rare, so there's no need to worry about it happening all the time!
