Aksumite currency

Aksumite currency is like shiny stones that people used a really long time ago in a place called Aksum. People in Aksum made these stones out of a special type of rock called gold. The stones were very valuable and people used them to buy things they needed, like food, clothes, and tools.

The stones were different shapes, some were round and some were triangular. They also had different pictures on them to show how much they were worth. For example, a small round stone with a picture of a cow on it might be worth one piece of bread, while a larger round stone with a picture of a lion on it might be worth ten pieces of bread.

If you wanted to buy something, you would have to give the person selling it some of your shiny stones. They would count the stones to make sure you had enough to pay for what you wanted.

Aksumite currency was used a long time ago but people don't use it anymore. Nowadays, we have different kinds of money like coins and paper bills that we use to buy things.
