Okay, so imagine you're standing in the middle of a big empty field. To help you know where you are and where things are around you, we use a special set of words called directions. One of these special words is "east".
Now, when we say "al este", it means "to the east" in Spanish. So if someone tells you to go "al este", they are telling you to go towards the direction of the rising sun, which happens in the morning. Just like when you wake up and see the sun peeking through your window, that's the direction of east.
Remember, east is just one of the four main directions (north, south, east, and west). If someone tells you to go "al norte", that means go north, or towards the top of a map. If someone says "al sur", they mean go south, or towards the bottom of a map. And if someone says "al oeste", they mean go west, or towards the direction of the setting sun, which happens in the evening.
Knowing directions is important to help us find our way around the world and get to where we need to go. So, next time you hear someone say "al este", remember that they want you to go towards the rising sun!
