Alan Guth

Alan Guth is a scientist who helps us to better understand the universe. He figured out a big part of what we know about the origins of the universe. He figured out that the universe is growing and expanding and that it went through something called inflation. Inflation is when the universe grows very quickly, parts of space stretch and expand outward faster than the speed of light. His ideas helped explain why the universe looks the way it does today.
