Alcohol licensing laws of Ireland

In Ireland, alcohol can't be sold or served in most places without a special license. This means the owner of the place must have a license from the government that lets them serve or sell alcohol on their property. To get this license, the owner must make sure their place meets certain standards, and must pay a fee to the government. The government only grants licenses to places that meet these standards, so that people drinking or buying alcohol do so in a safe environment.
