Alfred Vail

Alfred Vail was a person who lived in the 1800s. He helped invent something called the telegraph. The telegraph was a way to send electrical signals over a wire so that people on different sides of the world could communicate with each other. His invention helped all sorts of people communicate and stay in touch with each other over a much longer distance than before.
