Algorithmic art

Algorithmic art is artwork that is created using a computer program. It can be a drawing, painting, animation, or sculpture. The computer program runs an algorithm—a set of instructions—to create the artwork. For example, the algorithm may tell the computer to draw a series of circles, or lines, or shapes, and then arrange them in certain ways to create a picture. The artist provides the algorithm and the computer itself then creates the artwork.
