ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Algorithmic entities

Algorithmic entities are computer programs that can make decisions by themselves. Basically, an algorithmic entity can think and act on its own. They are usually used by companies to figure out the best ways to do something, like an online retailer that might use an algorithmic entity to decide which item to put on the homepage each day. They can also be used to help robots do complicated tasks, like driving a car. In other words, algorithmic entities are programs that can "think" and take action.
