ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Alliance for Affordable Internet

Alliance for Affordable Internet is a group of people who have come together to help everyone use the internet easily and without spending too much money.

Think of the internet like a big library with lots of books, movies, and games. But just like a library, you can only use the internet if you have a special library card called an internet connection. Some people cannot afford the library card or it is too expensive for them to use the internet.

The Alliance for Affordable Internet is like a superhero team made up of governments, businesses, and individuals who want to help make the internet cheaper and easier to use for everyone. They make sure that there are laws and regulations to keep internet companies from charging too much money for the library card, and that they don't control what people can do with the internet.

They also work to bring the internet to places where it doesn't exist, like in small towns or on remote islands. This is important because the internet can help us learn new things, talk to friends and family who live far away, and even find a job!

So just like how grown-ups work together to make sure you have food and a safe place to live, the Alliance for Affordable Internet works together to make the internet accessible and affordable for everyone.
