Alligator clip

An alligator clip is like a big clothespin that is used to hold things together. It has two arms that open and close just like the mouth of an alligator. You can clip one arm to one thing and the other arm to another thing to hold them together. Alligator clips are commonly used in science experiments to connect wires to other objects so that electricity can flow through them. They can also be used to hold papers together or to clip onto something like a zip line to help you carry it along. Alligator clips are called that because they look like the jaws of an alligator.
