Alpha (ethology)

Alpha is a word that's used to describe animals that are in charge or dominant in a group. An alpha animal is usually the biggest and strongest of the group, and other animals in the group look to the alpha when it comes to making decisions or solving problems. An alpha animal will make sure that everyone follows the rules and sticks together.
