Alpha-gal allergy

Alpha-gal allergy is when your immune system reacts to a sugar molecule found in the meat of certain animals. This can cause symptoms like hives, itching, and stomach pain. Imagine your immune system is like a superhero that protects your body from bad germs and things that could hurt you. But sometimes, it gets confused and thinks that harmless things are actually bad, like the sugar molecule in meat. So it attacks and causes some not-so-fun symptoms. If you have this allergy, you might need to avoid certain meats like beef, pork, and lamb. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of other foods you can eat instead!
