Altair (spacecraft)
Altair is a really cool spaceship that NASA wanted to use to send astronauts to the moon. It looks like a big funny-looking bug with legs!
The spaceship was going to be built in different parts and put together before it could take off.
It had a special part where the astronauts would live called the "habitat." It had everything they needed, like a kitchen, a place to sleep, and even a bathroom!
Altair also had really strong legs that could land on the moon without tipping over. That's because the moon's gravity is different from Earth's.
When Altair landed on the moon, the astronauts could go outside and explore all around! They would use a special tool called the lunar rover to drive around and collect rocks and samples to bring back home.
Sadly, NASA decided not to build Altair after all, but maybe one day we will have another cool spaceship like it to take us to the moon and beyond!
