ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Altera

Altera is a company that makes computer chips called Field-Programmable Gate Arrays or FPGAs. FPGAs are like a big box of Lego pieces that you can put together to make any kind of toy you want.

But instead of toys, FPGAs are used to make electronic devices like phones, tablets, computers, and even cars, planes, and rockets.

The cool thing is that unlike other computer chips that do only one thing, FPGAs can be programmed to do different tasks depending on what you need.

It's like having a toy box with all the pieces you need to create anything you can imagine! And Altera makes these toys boxes for grown-ups to make amazing electronic devices.
