ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ambient network

An ambient network is like a big spider web where all the devices are connected to each other, so they can communicate and share information with each other. Imagine you have a lot of toys in your room and you want to play with all of them, but you can only play with one toy at a time. With an ambient network, all your toys can talk to each other and decide when it's your turn to play with each toy, so you can have fun with all of them at once!

In the same way, devices in an ambient network can talk to each other and share information, even if they are in different locations. For example, your cellphone can talk to your home thermostat to turn up the temperature when you're on your way home. Or, your car can talk to the traffic lights and other cars on the road to help you get to your destination faster and safer.

All of these devices are connected through the internet and use special protocols that allow them to talk to each other without any human intervention. This can make our lives easier, more efficient, and more comfortable, as our devices are always at our service, working together seamlessly to help us achieve our goals.
