American Board of Surgery

Imagine that you are playing a game where you have to prove that you know everything about how to operate on people. The American Board of Surgery is like the group that gives you a certificate that says you won the game and that you know how to operate on people very well.

Before you can get the certificate, you have to do a lot of things. First, you have to go to school for many years to learn all the important things about the human body and how to operate on it. This is called medical school. Then, you have to work really hard and learn even more by working in a hospital and learning from other doctors.

Finally, you have to take a really big test that asks all kinds of questions about how to operate on people. If you do really well on the test, then the American Board of Surgery will give you a special certificate that says you are a great surgeon!

This certificate is important because it shows that you have worked very hard and that you know how to do important things that can help people stay healthy and feel better.
