The amur leopard is a type of big cat that lives in faraway places called Russia and China. They are special because they have beautiful fur with spots on it that helps them blend in with their surroundings. These spots are also different from all the other leopard species in the world.
Amur leopards like to live in cold, snowy forests where they can hunt for food. They are really good hunters and can catch animals like deer or wild pigs. They are also really fast and can run super-fast to catch their prey.
But sadly, there aren't many amur leopards left in the world. Because people are cutting down the trees and forests where they live, the amur leopard doesn't have many places to live anymore. There are only around 100-120 of them left in the wild, which is not very many.
There are good people called conservationists who are trying to protect and help the amur leopard population. They are planting trees and trying to make more areas where the leopards can live so they can have a happy and healthy life.
