ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Analog scale

An analog scale is like a big number machine that helps you weigh things. It works by having a flat surface for you to put things on and then using a little pointer that moves up and down to show you how much the thing you're weighing weighs.

Have you ever seen a clock with hands that move around to show the time? An analog scale is kind of like that, but instead of hands showing the time, it has a pointer showing the weight of something.

Analog scales can be very helpful when you need to know how much something weighs. People sometimes use them to weigh themselves, or to measure out ingredients when they are cooking or baking. They are also used in places like warehouses to weigh heavy boxes and packages before they are shipped out.

So if you need to weigh something, an analog scale is a great tool to use!
