Anastigmat

An anastigmat is something that helps you see better through a camera or a pair of glasses.

You know how when you look through a glass of water or a curved bowl, things look really weird and distorted? Well that's because the glass or bowl bends the light that's trying to come through it, and it doesn't bend the light evenly.

In a camera or pair of glasses, there are several pieces of glass that work together to bend the light so that it all bends evenly. This way, when the light reaches your eye or the camera's film, everything looks sharp and clear, without any weird distortions.

An anastigmat is a special type of lens that has been designed to bend the light extra evenly, which makes everything look even sharper and clearer than with a regular lens. It does this by using a combination of different shapes and materials that work together to bend the light just right.
