ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Anaximander

Anaximander was a very smart person who lived a long long time ago in Ancient Greece. He thought about the world and how it all worked, kind of like how you like to figure out how your toys work.

Anaximander believed that there was something called the "apeiron" that existed before everything else. This was kind of like a big endless space that everything else came from. It was kind of like how your house was built on a plot of land that was there before the house.

He also thought that the world was made up of different things called elements like earth, air, fire, and water. He thought that these elements could change into each other over time, kind of like how ice can melt into water which can turn into steam.

Anaximander also came up with the idea of evolution. He thought that people and animals changed over time to adapt to their surroundings. Kind of like how a butterfly starts out as a caterpillar and then changes into a butterfly.

Overall, Anaximander was a very smart person who thought about the world and how it all worked a long long time ago. His ideas helped us understand more about the world we live in today.
