Ancient Greek literature

Okay, so you know how sometimes we read stories together, like "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" or "The Three Little Pigs"? Well, a long time ago, there were people in Greece who also wrote stories and poems that they would read or sing out loud to other people. This was called Ancient Greek literature.

These stories and poems helped people learn about their history and the gods they believed in. Some of the most famous writers were Homer, who wrote the epic poems the Iliad and the Odyssey, and Aesop, who wrote fables like "The Tortoise and the Hare".

The Greeks believed that storytelling was really important, and they even had competitions where people would perform their own stories or poems in front of groups. They also had theaters where people could watch plays.

Ancient Greek literature is still really important today because it has influenced so many other writers and artists. Some stories and characters, like Hercules or Medusa, are still really popular and people still tell their stories today.
