Ancient underground quarry, Jordan Valley

Okay kiddo, so have you ever played in a sandbox or made sandcastles on the beach? Well, a long time ago, people used to take big rocks out of the ground to make buildings and things. They needed a lot of rocks, and sometimes the rocks were really hard to get to.

Now, in the Jordan Valley, there's this place where people used to take rocks out of the ground. But it wasn't just a regular quarry, it was an underground one! That means they had to dig down into the ground to get to the rocks.

The people who did the digging were really smart. They made tunnels and rooms underground where they could work. They used tools like hammers and chisels to break the rocks into smaller pieces. Then they would take the pieces out of the quarry and use them to build stuff like houses, buildings, and even temples!

The underground quarry was really cool because it helped keep the workers cool in the hot sun outside. Plus, it was hidden from view so enemies couldn't see what they were doing.

Nowadays, people don't use the quarry anymore. But you can still go visit it and see how the ancient people worked and lived. It's like a big underground museum!
