André-Louis Danjon was a very smart man who was born many years ago. He loved looking at the sky and studying the stars. He was especially interested in the moon, which is a big round thing that we can sometimes see at night.
One day, André-Louis Danjon figured out a special way to measure the brightness of the moon. He did this by looking at the color of the light it reflected. He found out that the color of the light changed depending on how bright the moon was.
He then made a special machine called a photometer that could measure the brightness of the moon very accurately. He used this machine to study the moon and made many important discoveries about it.
Thanks to André-Louis Danjon's work, we now know a lot more about the moon and its properties. People still use his photometer today to study other things in the sky too!
