Angelus

Angelus is a prayer that some people say three times a day to remember when the Archangel Gabriel told Mary that she was going to have a baby, who would be Jesus. The prayer is usually said at three specific times, which are when the church bell rings in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, which helps people remember to say it. The prayer is short and goes like this: "The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived by the Holy Ghost. Hail Mary, full of grace, The Lord is with Thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Some people say it to show respect to Mary and to remember the good news about Jesus.
