The Anglo-German Naval Race was a competition between England and Germany to build the most powerful navy. Both countries wanted to have a strong navy in order to protect their countries, as well as have the most ships and submarines to show off to other countries. During this time, both countries built huge battleships and submarines, which gave them the ability to control the seas. As the race continued, each country wanted to build bigger and better ships, which cost a lot of money. In the end, both countries spent a lot of resources trying to outdo each other, but neither one ended up with anything to show for it.
