Anglo-Saxon England was a place called England a long, long time ago. The people who lived there were called Anglo-Saxons, and they were lots of different tribes who spoke lots of different languages. They lived in different parts of England and didn't always get along.
The Anglo-Saxons were farmers and they had big farms with lots of animals like cows, pigs, and sheep. They grew food like wheat and barley, and they traded with other people to get things they didn't have themselves. They also had kings who ruled over them and made important decisions.
The Anglo-Saxons were also famous for their art, especially their beautiful jewelry and weapons. They made lots of things out of gold and silver, like brooches, bracelets, and swords. They were very skilled at metalworking and used their art to show off their wealth and power.
In the year 1066, the Anglo-Saxons were invaded by a group of people called the Normans. This was a big turning point in Anglo-Saxon history because the Normans brought with them a different language and culture. Over time, the Anglo-Saxons and Normans blended together to form a new culture that we call English today.
